“Life is an experience of making choices about how you want to arrange things in your life. You can choose to arrange things in a Fearful, Egoic way, or you can choose to arrange things in a Loving and Joyful way.
When you choose Love and Joy you align with the greatest and highest Good and begin to express your unique creative perspective while at the same time feeling a oneness with everyone else. This will leave you with a feeling of wholeness, joy, peace and gratitude.”
~Jackson Kiddard
We make a choice about how we experience life every day, many times a day, yet we often don’t even realize that we have this choice.
When we feel ignored by someone else, when we make a mistake, when something doesn’t go as planned, we have a choice what to think. We can choose to think “This person doesn’t really care about me.” “I never do anything right.” “Things don’t work out for me.” That’s the fearful way.
Or we can think “This person may have been really busy or pre-occupied.” “I learned something new today.” “Let’s see where this will take me.” That’s the loving way.
These thoughts lead to very different actions. Fearful thoughts make us want to run away, avoid, retaliate, argue, blame, or get defensive. Loving thoughts make us want to reach out, understand, share, explore, find out more and discover new options.
Don’t worry about doing this perfectly. It takes practice. But it’s something we can start right now. Whatever problem or situation you are facing right now, what are your thoughts about it? If they are based on fear, what would your thoughts be if they were full of compassion, kindness, love, benevolence, empathy, and joy?
